Why Does 64-32-16=16?

64 teams started the tournament last week. After 48 matches over three days, 48 teams have been eliminated and the Sweet Sixteen remain. Below is a run down of all the great match ups that will play out. (Click on the image above or here for an interactive bracket of the entire tournament.) We wish all of the teams the best of luck as they seek to rendezvous in Tampa!

GO Food... Sports Nutrition for Volleyball Athletes
FRVBC Athletes Train Hard
As a sports performance coach, I watch Front Range Volleyball Club (FRVBC) athletes invest long, hard hours each year - training hard to be the best! The combination of all their skill training, conditioning work and tournament play places great physical demands on each of their bodies - physical demands that require the right kind of nutrition and energy from the food each athlete eats to help his or her body to perform at the highest level while reducing the risk for injury. This article is the first in a three-part series designed to help athletes and their families choose the right foods to perform at their maximum level on-the-court, in the classroom and at home.
How Typical FRVBC Athletes Eat
Over the past four years I've designed specific performance-related nutritional plans for select FRVBC players. As part of this process, I would typically have each athlete write down everything she ate and drink for up to a week. Then we would typically discuss how to improve their diet to perform better. The results were shocking!
