Senior Signings and Junior Verbal Commitments
Congratulations to our Front Range athletes who recently signed National Letters of Intent or verbally committed to universities!
Mandy Bauer from 18 Black will be playing volleyball in Colorado next season at the Colorado School of Mines. Bauer is a senior at Mountain Vista High School and has played for Front Range for the past two seasons. As a freshman for the Orediggers next year, Mandy will be competing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. In addition to being a solid NCAA Division II competitor, the school is also a standout science and engineering school.
Stevie Hurlbirt from 18 Black will officially be a Lady next season. We have known that she has been a lady for longer than that but by signing to play at Centenary College, whose mascots are the Ladies and the Gents, the title becomes official. Hurlbirt is a graduate of Heritage High School. Stevie, a young graduate, elected to return for one more year of club volleyball as part of her effort to rehab from a serious knee injury and a pair of surgeries. She will be moving to Shreveport, LA to compete in the NCAA Division I Summit League. See the press release about her signing here.
Gabi Dewberry from 17 Silver has verbally committed to Cal State Fullerton beginning in the 2009 season. Gabi will sign a National Letter of Intent next year. Dewberry is a junior at Cherry Creek High School, where she helped lead her team to the 2008 state semifinals. CSUF is part of the California State University system and is located in Orange County in Southern California. The Titans are an NCAA Division I program that competes in the Big West Conference.
Jordan Kissman from 17 Silver has verbally committed to Georgia Tech to play volleyball for the "Ramblin' Wreck" beginning in the 2009 season. Jordan will sign a National Letter of Intent next year. Kissman is a junior at Eaglecrest High School. Jordan has played in the last three State Championship matches. She will be moving to Atlanta, GA, the home of the Yellow Jackets (The school's official mascot). Georgia Tech is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, an NCAA Division I conference.
Good luck to all of you in your college volleyball careers!
