Prep Volleyball Lists Recognize Front Range

Congratulations are in order for several Front Range athletes who have been recognized for their high school accomplishments this past season. Each winter PrepVolleyball.com publishes lists of notable high school athletes covering each high school class. This year's lists included several Front Range athletes.

Morgan BohlThe "Frosh 59" included Morgan Bohl in recognition of her role in Eaglecrest's return to the state finals. Also playing a pivotal role at Eaglecrest was Highest Honorable Mention Bailey Karst. The third Front Range freshman to be recognized was Laura Whalen, also a Highest Honorable Mention, who was a leader for Littleton this fall. All three were the highest listed Colorado athletes.

Erica DenneyThe "Soph 79" featured state champion Erica Denney and Ponderosa standout Kendall Howard. The Mullen duo of Kelsey Freeman and Allie Freiwald were listed as Honorable Mentions. Regis' Anna Kate Atencio was also noted as a sophomore to watch.

Carrie BairdLast but not least, Cherry Creek's Carrie Baird was chosen as one of "Top 50 Junior Recruits". Looks like there will be plenty of college coaches watching all of these players develop this season with Front Range.

Your Personal Soldier

Sergeant First Class Dawson hasn't wasted any time since returning to Iraq. Here's an excerpt from his last email:

This was my first photo back in Iraq. Myself and 4 star General David Petraeus. What an honor to be welcomed back to the fight. This was taken at the Grand Opening of the First USO facility in a combat zone. The only thing missing was a volleyball court, which I will inquire about when I make my first visit. Sorry to cut this short. I've got a lot of catching up to.
Keep your hands up.

Your Personal Soldier.
