Post Season Accolades Roll In
Front Range Players Reap What They Have Sown
We have reached the point on the volleyball calendar where players can stop and appreciate what they have accomplished during the past season. It is a time to take a deep breath and get ready for the 2007-2008 club season as well as a chance for us to acknowledge some Front Range athlete achievements.
Nichole Riedel, a junior at Regis, earned Second Team All-Continental League as well as First Team Academic All State. Shelby Schacher, a sophomore at Arapahoe, joined Nichole on the Continental League's Second Team. Alysa Birdsall, a sophomore at Cherokee Trail, was named to the Skyline League's First Team.
Evan Sanders (R), a senior at Centaurus, was featured three times in the local press recently. She was named The Alumni News female athlete of the month, she was featured in a Signing Day article in The Daily Camera and she shared the headlines with Amanda Arterburn (L), a senior at Smoky Hill, in an article recapping the volleyball All-State Games.
Apologies to Alex Turgeon, a sophomore at Cherry Creek,and Citrece Fox-Birdwell, a freshman at Grandview, for being omitted from last week's roll call of State Tournament participants.

Christmas? Already?!?
The 2007 Front Range Holiday Party is nigh! Saturday, December 1st at 7pm at Front Range, the club will host our annual holiday gathering. All Front Range families are welcome, including from the Boys team as well as the Mountain Division.
Coaches Michelle Hoffner and Jennifer Pokraka will be presenting the second annual Christmas Competition during the festivities.
Front Range will provide beverages. Families are asked to bring an appetizer to share as well as canned food for donation to the Food Bank of the Rockies. The canned food collection will continue after the holiday party as well.
Food Drive dates: November 26th through the last day of practice before the holiday break. Here are a few types of canned and dry goods that make nice donations: Tuna, ham, beef stew, chili, baked beans, fruit, vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, soup and pasta. Non-glass containers are preferred.
Donations can be dropped off at Front Range in clearly marked bins.
Where The Boys Are
Not everyone starts their club season in December. The Front Range Boys team has already played in two men's tournaments, finishing 8th at the qualifying tournament and 4th in Division 2 in their second event. Keep up the hard work, fellas!
Alumnae News
University of Central Florida senior Schanell Neiderworder was featured in last month's issue of Volleyball Magazine in the "Women's College Notebook" for her participation in a mission trip to South Africa last summer. You might be able to catch Schanell at Front Range during the winter break. Be sure to ask her about her trip!

A reminder that practices for all teams (including the Mountain Division) begin practice next week. The practice calendar for December is available online. Please be sure to check with your coach for any schedule changes.
