Alumnae News
Wow, have our alumnae been busy! Only a scant few weeks into the season and already Front Range alumnae have been scooping up the accolades. Here is a sampling of what they've achieved already in this young season.
Mekana Barnes, a preseason All-Mountain West Conference pick, has shown that her selection was no mistake. Not only was she named MWC player of the week in back to back weeks, but she was also named AVCA player of the week for the week of September 4th. If that wasn't enough, she earned the AVCA distinction in part for her MVP status during the Coors Classic tournament hosted by Colorado State.
Sarah Ammerman has had an impressive opening to her season at Texas A&M. The sophomore outside hitter picked up all-tournament honors each of the first two weekends of the season, including an MVP nod at Montana State's Holiday Inn Classic. She might owe some of her success to fellow Front Range alumna Kristen Schevikhoven, who joined Sarah on the all-tournament team in Montana.
Schanell Neiderworder, a senior outside hitter at Central Florida, brought her team to Boulder and put on a show for the friends, family, and locals that came out to see her and team mate Andee Youngblood, also a Front Range alumna. Schanell was rewarded for her efforts with an all-tournament selection at the Colorado Invitational.
Tracy Stalls and Rachel Holloway have been leading the way for a dominant Nebraska squad. They were both named to the Ameritas Players Challenge all-tournament team. Holloway was also named to the all-tournament roster the previous weekend at the Holiday Inn Downtown Classic while Stalls made the AVCA Showcase list. Read a Q&A with Rachel here.
For all you parents, friends and fans, please help us keep up with all the action. With alumnae playing at no fewer than 22 schools, we might miss handing out some kudos. Please email eduardo@frvbc.com with links to articles that we may have missed!
Although there were no awards given for this group, Front Range supporters everywhere felt their hearts swell with pride when, during the Nebraska-Tennessee match on Friday, August 21st, when CSTV's commentator (also a Front Range alumna) mentioned Front Range as alumnae Rachel Holloway, Lindsey Licht, and Tracy Stalls and their common thread as all three stood next to each other awaiting the beginning of a rally. In the words of one current Front Range player, "I got goose bumps!"

And the success doesn't stop at graduation! Cassy Salyer, a recent graduate of Penn State, signed a contract with a professional volleyball team in Greece. We hope to hear more about Cassy's Grecian exploits as the season progresses and internet cafes allow.
High School Season In Full Swing
Front Range Players are making headlines
Front Range's Mountain Division players are making their presence known. Here are links to a few articles featuring Front Range attitude at a higher altitude: Toni Gottschalck, Whitney VanVoorst, and Toni Gottschalck up close and personal.
Ann Dylla certainly isn't hiding from anyone this season. She was featured in a Rocky Mountain News article recently. See the article here.
We are certainly proud of all Front Range players as they ply their trade for their respective schools. With no fewer than 15 Front Range athletes named to Rocky Mountain News "top players by position" and so many Front Range athletes bolstering their teams, the coaching staff is out several nights a week watching them excel. Please help us stay abreast with all the latest news so that we can share your success with the rest of the Front Range family. Please email eduardo@frvbc.com with links to articles that mention Front Range players. We look forward to seeing Front Range in the news!

Duck's quacks really do echo. There are actually scientists that have too much time on their hands and have studied it. Read about it here.
