Jane Colleymore during her career at the University of Florida

Colleymore's New Calling Music to Our Ears

A change of coast, a change of scenery, and a change in profession. Jane Colleymore went to college in Florida, "the sunshine state". Now she's in Seattle, home of Starbucks and the cloudy day. She used to be found in gymnasiums. Now she's spending more time in recording studios. Her supporting cast used to consist of girls in spandex, referees, parents, and fans. Now she's leading a five-piece rock band. Things have changed, but that's the beauty of life...

Jane started playing for Front Range during her sophomore year and was a part of the 2002 National Championship 18 Black team. She went on to star at the University of Florida as an outside hitter. Her college career included numerous accolades, including Most Improved Collegiate Player and she played in a National Championship match against USC. Check out her University of Florida bio here. Jane also represented the USA as a member of the Junior National Team as well as the Womens National Team.

After spending time training with the USA squad, Jane elected to move to Seattle, where her family had relocated. She has since signed with an independent record label and is recording music which she writes, produces, and plays. Check out her web page for more information and to hear some of her work.

Good luck in your new career!

Speaking of Team USA...

It will be a busy summer for at least a couple of Front Range players. USA Volleyball recently released the rosters for their High Performance programs and two of the squads include Front Range players.

Erica Denney was selected for the Select A1 program, the top program USAV offers for players born in or after 1992. She will train and compete in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from July 16-26. The training portion will be July 16-21. After the training block, the group will be divided into four teams and compete representing USA Volleyball in the 2007 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships July 22-25. For more information, see USAV's Select A1 press release here.

Kristy Jaeckel was chosen as a member of the Junior National A2 team that will compete at the European Global Challenge in Croatia July 17-27. For more information, see USAV's Junior A2 press release here.

Good luck and enjoy representing the USA this summer.
